Candela

Founded in Sweden in 2014, Candela builds electric boats that fly. Its hydrofoils lift the hull above the water, drastically reducing energy consumption by up to 80%. The same technology runs both its C-8 day boats and its P-12 passenger ferries.

Fly over the water

Once the foils lift the hull clear of the water, sensors adjust them hundreds of times a second, so the boat glides over waves instead of slamming through them.

Ready for the Shallows

The foils and drive retract for shallow water and docking, so the C-8 handles like a regular boat when it's not flying.

Easy Boarding

Built-in steps beside the helm lead from the cockpit to the bow, so boarding from the dock and heading forward is safe and easy.
