Electrified Marina

Erick began his career as a technician for BMW before a transformative ride in a Tesla Roadster in 2011 shifted his perspective on transportation. He spent nine years with Tesla, working around the country in various roles including service and charging infrastructure, where he was instrumental in installing hundreds of charging stations. 

An EV advocate and electric vehicle driver since 2013, Erick's entrepreneurial journey took a significant turn when he partnered with Erin Gatling in 2022. With a strong sailing background and a SpaceX employee she was the perfect match. Together, leveraging Erin's maritime expertise and Erick's extensive EV experience, they founded the leading electric-only boat dealership. 

In Norfolk VA they have an all electric rental fleet and also repower boats to electric. Within two years, they delivered several dozen electric watercraft and have gotten thousands of "butts in boats". In addition, they are spearheading the redevelopment of Willoughby Marina, aiming to transform it into the world's most sustainable marina. Their combined efforts and vision continue to drive innovation and growth in the electric boating industry.

Erin and Casey have been happily married since 2013. Along the way, two children to joined the crew, Gunner and Paige.

From the first SpaceX Falcon 1 orbital launch to the Falcon Heavy, Erin and Casey, had their fingerprints all over every rocket that lifted off. Working long days, family milestones began flying by; they decided it was time for a change.

In 2017, a sunset sailboat charter in the British Virgin Islands sparked a new dream: sailing around the world as a family. They quickly fell in love with a Catana 47 ft catamaran, named it Endless Playtime, and set off on a Caribbean adventure.

After sailing over 6,300 nautical miles, they paused for upgrades, only to have their boat severely damaged in an unexpected accident. Undeterred, they embraced a new plan, trading waves for wheels with a motorhome, keeping their travel dreams alive. As they say, “Don’t change the dream; change the plan.”

Annamaria Bathory is Electrified Marina’s powerhouse as the Head of Operations. With a knack for scaling businesses and a colorful background, Annamaria brings bold energy and diverse expertise to the table.

Fluent in English and Hungarian, she’s a bridge-builder who thrives on connection and culture..
