Imagine a tender that’s as quiet as it is powerful, and as lightweight as it is dependable – that’s the promise of the ZeroJet OCT 330. This 3.3-meter electric jet propulsion tender (essentially an electric dinghy for your yacht) delivers the punch of a 20hp outboard without the noise, fumes, or maintenance hassles. The OCT 330 is the result of a partnership between Ocean Custom Technologies (OCT) and ZeroJet, blending an innovative hull with a cutting-edge electric jet drive. The outcome is a lightweight and dependable tender that can handle even choppy waters with grace and ease, all while running whisper-quiet for those early-morning trips to shore.

OCT and ZeroJet Electrifying New Zealand

The partnership between OCT and Zerojet brings together two innovative New Zealand companies to create the next-generation electric tender. OCT (Offshore Cruising Tenders) and ZeroJet—both based in New Zealand—teamed up to create the OCT 330, the world’s first high-performance electric jet tender. OCT brings its ultra-light, stable composite hull, while ZeroJet provides its new Gen-3 15 kW electric jet system, which features dual lithium batteries, simplified plug-and-play charging, instant electric reverse, and over 10 kg in weight savings. The result is a compact, efficient, and fully enclosed tender that runs clean, planes quickly, and eliminates the noise, vibration, and maintenance of gas-powered outboards.

Why Yachties Love OCT

ZeroJet partners with many hull manufacturers to offer electric jet tenders in all kinds of layouts. The OCT has a few defining features that put it above the rest. OCT’s 330 model has earned its reputation as a top electric tender thanks to its ultra-lightweight composite construction, stable plumb-bow hull, and dry ride even in chop. With a total rigged weight as low as 355 lbs (carbon version), it’s easy to handle on davits or swim platforms without sacrificing performance. The wide planing hull gets on plane quickly with minimal power, and the open layout maximizes usable space for passengers and gear. Add in its shallow draft, clean lines, and smooth ride, and the OCT 330 stands out as a practical, high-performance option for cruisers seeking a quiet, modern tender.
